Little Girl Nursery

I have obviously been crazy excited for the arrival of Baby P since August but I've reached the part of my pregnancy where I'm just overjoyed and cannot wait!

We've decided not to find out what we're having. I love the idea of not knowing and keeping everyone, including us, guessing. I've thought since we found out I was pregnant that Baby P is a girl but who knows.

We I have decided that the nursery is going to be finished pre-arrival gender neutral and we'll add a few gender specific pieces once our baby is here.

Since I think Baby P is a girl I'll share my baby girl nursery ideas first.

The walls are going to be painted like this no matter what - boy or girl. I just adore stripes and love this for the nursery.

I love the idea of having a few of her pretty little dresses on display like this. Isn't is just precious!

I also love this idea too.

I'm not sure of the original source for this image, I found it on Pinterest. I really like how simple yet feminine this lighting is. I'm a bit nervous to hang it over the crib, I think I would do it in the center of the room.

I'm still working on bedding, stay tuned!

Tell me, do you like where I'm headed with this room so far?

Emerald Green for 2013!

Are you loving Pantone's colour of the year as much as I am? Emerald Green is one of my favourite colours. When I was in Italy and France last December I saw it everywhere and fell in love immediately.

This is a great colour you can incorporate into many aspects of your life - fashion, decor & events!

Here are some fun examples of this fabulous colour.

Holiday Mantels

I hope you had a fabulous weekend! My weekend started off not too hot due to a cold that has been coming and going since October but aside from that it was good. I spent Saturday walking around the newly renovated Yorkdale mall and let me tell you it's like a dream. The new section is fabulous and stores are amazing. You'll hear more about my finds later this week.

Now onto holiday mantels. A nicely decorated holiday mantel goes a long way in my books. Since the husband and I are buying all new Christmas decorations because it's our first Christmas in our house things are adding up. I've opted not to get a garland for the mantel this year and will save it for next year. In the meantime, a girl can still dream, right?

Hostess Gift Ideas

Now that Halloween is behind us I can start talking about my favourite holiday, Christmas! I love these next couple months when you're spending lots of time with family and friends, cozy near the fireplace and shopping for loved ones.

Being that it's our first Christmas in our new house, we were in Europe last Christmas for our honeymoon, I cannot wait to decorate our house. I am heading to the Holiday Home Tour in Stouffville this weekend to fill my head with too many decor ideas!

I stumbled across these and thought they'd be perfect house warming or hostess gifts for the holidays.

Via
These would look lovely in your home or a great idea for a hostess gift. You can get the jars for cheap and fill with your favourite holiday candy.

Via

I love this idea and would cost next to nothing. I have one too many mason jar laying around my house. Just fill with some yummy candy, add a ribbon and voila!

What do you think, something you'd consider doing this season?

Not Too Spooky Decor

I am pretty much done with Halloween and ready for Christmas. I know, I'm rushing the seasons along but I'm just not a big Halloween person. I've never been big on dressing up and the thought of being asked to attend Halloween parties just stresses me out.

Being that Christmas is still 2 months away I figure I should oblige and participate in the current season.

I came across these great Halloween decor pieces for your home at Style At Home. Aside from some mini pumpkins and fall mums my house is pretty Halloween-less. These would be fabulous additions to help me get into the spirit of ghosts and goblins!

Minus the spider I love this. It's pretty yet still keeping with the Halloween theme!

I have a serious love affair with owls. I have one in my house but it's white and not scary at all.

Such a nice change from your typical orange pumpkin.

All of the pictures are from Style At Home.

So there you have it, some fun not too spooky Halloween decor.

Tell me, do you go all out with your Halloween decor? Is this your favourite time of year?

Saw & Loved on Pinterest

Like most people, I am obsessed with Pinterest. I'm not someone who sits on it for hours at a time pinning away, but a couple times a week I'll check it out for sure.

The amount of inspiration I get from Pinterest is amazing! I came across these and just had to share them. Let me know what you think.

I realize this wall paper is a bit out there but there's someone about this washroom that I'm loving. It may be the fabulous mirror.

Via

If I could create an adorable corner office for myself in our house I would in a heart beat. I love the cork board.

Via

I just adore this space. The painting is stunning and the use of colour is perfect.

I am loving this table and the simplicity of this area. Less is more.

Where do you get your food, cocktail, decor inspiration from? Are you a Pinterest lover too?

Gold & Pink

Does anyone else love the gold and pink combo as much as I do? Gold and pink can do no wrong in my book. It is so feminine and classy ~ it's the Audrey Hepburn of colour combos.

I came across these gold and pink rooms and just had to share them with you. If I didn't think my husband would move out if I did this to our house, I'd 100% do it!

I love love love this end table. The gold legs are to die for.

There's is absolutely nothing I don't love about this area. The mirror and chairs are perfection if you ask me.

How amazing is the powder room. The modern mixed with the antique is perfect.

Via

I could probably pull this off with little complaining from my husband.

I'm drooling over the bed. How grand yet elegant is this room.

What do you think, are you sold on the gold and pink combo? What's your favorite colour combo right now?

Canada Day Decor Ideas

With the long weekend only days away I thought it would be fun to touch on some fun decor ideas for your home. We have a lot of wood furniture in our home which is Canadian of us, right, right?? I'd love to incorporate some of these ideas into our home too.

When our backyard is finished I am 100% buying these. I love candles and these would make the perfect addition to any outdoor space.

Is this not the best clock you've ever seen. I love the red and white hands, Oh So Canadian!

How about a gorgeous red coffee table. This table screams summer fun to me!

This may sound weird but I love coasters. They're so useful and save your wood furniture. That being said, I don't own a set as fabulous as these.

Last but not least an HBC blanket. You don't get much more Canadian then HBC!

What's your favourite Canadian piece in your home right now?

Pillows

We've been in our house about 3 months now and we've loved every second of it! It's slowly coming together and starting to feel homey. Do I wish the house was fully furnished, art on the walls and fabulous drapery, yes, but that will come.

My big issue with the house right now is our greatroom. I feel like its very confused - and by it, I mean me!
We I still haven't figured out the theme/colour scheme for the room. One big thing I hate about the room are the throw pillows we have on the couch. I bought them a while ago and I hate them but I don't know what to replace them with because I can't figure out how to decorate the room!

I've found these pictures for some pillow inspiration.

What Colour Would YOU Paint This?

The count down is in full force in regards to the closing date of the house and the wedding. With that said I am in the midst of having a holy crap week, I have SO much left to do!!

One of the things of my 8 page to-do list is paint this table. I bought it at a garage sale in the spring and love it. At the Christie Antique Show in September I bought some great drawer pulls for it too.

The walls in our great room are a sunflower yellow colour. Our fire place mantle will be white and our couch and coffee table are brown, as is our hardwood.

Advice and input are greatly needed!

How Do You Decorate Your Walls?

I am just giddy with excitment because Michael and I get our house in three and a half weeks. It seems like just yesterday we were at the Decor Centre picking everything from wall colour to granite and now it's finally here.

Michael and I want to make sure our walls have some serious loving. How do you decorate your walls? What type of art have you hung? We're on a tight budget art wise so we're looking for an inexpensive way to add some art love to our house.

Here are some pictures I found on pinterest that I really like. Let me know your thoughts!

Halloween Home Decor

Is everyone ready for Halloween? I personally am not a big Halloween person, I don't really care for the dressing up aspect of it. That aside, if I was to host a Halloween party I would be all over these decor ideas.

Are you the type of person to decorate your house for various holidays throughout the year? I think I will be, once we get our house, in 30 DAYS!!

I love the idea and look of the wreath over the mirror. Adds a very mysterious vibe.

A bit much but perfect if your home is situated on a big piece of land.

I love tall candle holders and would use these, minus the spiders and skulls, all year round.

Are these things you would incorporate into your Halloween home?
