I Need A Rug!

I recently have this urge to make sure my house looks like a picture from a House and Home magazine before this little baby arrives. I don't imagine the baby will judge us but in my head he or she will!

From painting to pot lights we have a lot to get done / I want done before April.

One of things on my list is a great rug for the family room. Our hardwood is a cedar ash colour, our sofa is brown leather, we have a red bookcase and well that's about it.

Here are a few rugs that I'm loving. Let me know what you think.

Basically the only thing holding me back from buying one of these beauties is how pricey they are. I need to get over the price and dive in!

Green & Blue Inspiration

How lovely and summery are green and blue. They're so fresh and warm if you ask me. When I came across these green and blue inspiration pictures I knew I had to feature them.

Our house is still a bit confused. I love our kitchen except for one big empty wall. Our great room needs some loving. One of my favourite hobbies is searching online, through magazines and in stores for inspiration. We haven't been in our house for a year yet and being that it's new we've been told to wait at least one year to paint. Waiting is killing me. Not that we know what colours we'd go with. That just means I always have my eyes open for inspiration.

I adore this shower curtain and the colours.

I love this vignette and the shade of blue. It's such a warm piece. We have a few places in our home where this would look great. Definitely something to keep in mind.

Tell me, where do you get your home inspiration from? Any suggestions?

On a side note, tonight I'm off to +Design Series hosted by iYellow Wine Club at the Liberty Village West Elm store and I cannot wait. Is anyone else going?

Decorating Your Walls

Art is something I know very little about and don't really think I have a certain style or preference for. I see something I like, I buy it want it!

Art on our walls isn't something we've really tackled yet but something I certainly want to tackle in the future.

I came across these and could totally picture them in our house.

Do you have a certain art style? Which of these are you most drawn to?

This Wall Needs Some Love!

We are slowly turing our house into a home. Someone asked me recently if it's feeling like home yet and the answer is 100%, YES! Are there things we'd like to do to our house so it looks more finished and polish, of course.

One of things on the to-do list is tackle the big blank wall in the kitchen / dining area. Right now we have one lonely painting on it that we bought in Venice on our honeymoon.

I did a post a while back about doing a Plate Wall here and while I do love that idea, I also love this idea.

How amazing would it be to frame my mom and grandmother's recipe. All three of them are amazing cooks and it would definitely add a personal and touch to our kitchen, the room we use most.

Would you do this? What do you think of this idea?

Who Doesn't Love A Good Wreath?

I for one have a big love obsession with gorgeous wreaths. Unfortunately, I have yet to find the perfect one to hang on my front door or anywhere in my home.

I thought this post would help inspire myself and any of you who are in the market for a fabulous wreath.

What Colour Would YOU Paint This?

The count down is in full force in regards to the closing date of the house and the wedding. With that said I am in the midst of having a holy crap week, I have SO much left to do!!

One of the things of my 8 page to-do list is paint this table. I bought it at a garage sale in the spring and love it. At the Christie Antique Show in September I bought some great drawer pulls for it too.

The walls in our great room are a sunflower yellow colour. Our fire place mantle will be white and our couch and coffee table are brown, as is our hardwood.

Advice and input are greatly needed!

How Do You Decorate Your Walls?

I am just giddy with excitment because Michael and I get our house in three and a half weeks. It seems like just yesterday we were at the Decor Centre picking everything from wall colour to granite and now it's finally here.

Michael and I want to make sure our walls have some serious loving. How do you decorate your walls? What type of art have you hung? We're on a tight budget art wise so we're looking for an inexpensive way to add some art love to our house.

Here are some pictures I found on pinterest that I really like. Let me know your thoughts!

My Fascination With Wreaths

I have recently fallen in love with wreaths of all different shapes, sizes and colours. Shannon from What's Up Whimsy did a post that you can find here on a Pom Pom Wreath that I just love. I'd found some other wreaths that I think are fabulous too!
